Alan Sparhawk for The New Yorker

We had a great time collaborating with Alan for this portrait assignment. Working with fellow creatives is one of our favorite things as they usually aren’t shy about trying different things or even bringing their own ideas to the table. Alan is a talented musician who sadly lost his wife, Mimi, who was also his creative partner. The two created magical music as the band The Low. Alan was very generous with his time and it was great chatting with him at length about his creative process, his wife, playing alongside his son, and the Cajun Finn at Northern Waters Smokehaus. We honestly could not have asked for a better day or conversation and we only wish it wasn’t the death of his wife that brought us together. Photographed for The New Yorker.
