Winter ice surfing was one of the first story ideas on our never-ending list of personal projects we have wanted to work on ever since moving back to Minnesota. Finally, thanks to an assignment, we actually found ourselves photographing surfers braving the icy cold waters of Lake Superior. We love photographing Lake Superior but throw in fresh snow from a blizzard and some dedicated surfers and you have yourself the makings of one epic photo assignment.
